My name is Fred Händl. I was born in 1972 in Bliesdorf (Germany) and grew up in Eindhoven. In the 1990s, I studied jazz and popular music at the Conservatory of Tilburg, where I took lessons from, among others, Willem Kühne. Later, I completed a Music Therapy program at De Kopse Hof in Nijmegen.
After many travels through North and South America, and across Europe, I settled in The Hague in 2006 — a place I now truly call home.
Since 2021, I am a proud member of EPTA Netherlands: the European Piano Teachers Association.

My love for music began at an early age. As a child, I often sat behind the piano and taught my friends to play songs. That joy of teaching has never left me.
Since 2008, I have been teaching piano full-time. In 2015, I opened my own studio at Stadhouderslaan in The Hague: The Yellow Hippo Studios — a colorful place where music, creativity, and fun come together.

Besides teaching, I am also active as a performing pianist. I perform as a soloist and play keyboards in various bands. Since 2014, I have toured regularly — solo or with a band — in England, Germany, and the United States.
During the corona period, performances came to a halt, but plans and bookings are now in full swing again.

In 1996, I released my first solo piano CD: Moon and Stars and All That Jazz — a collection of live improvisations, recorded at the Daltoon Studios in Eindhoven.
Since then, I have released several albums, including three with my own arrangements of music by Frank Zappa.
